Senior year. Last season. One last ride. #21 @jesusworksthrujordan 🐂🏈
This one hits a little different for me.
I started training my oldest son, @prayers4justin, when he was only 4 or 5 years old. I thought I was watching the beginning of his journey in sports, but before it ever really had a chance to start, that journey was cut short by a traumatic brain injury that partially paralyzed him and almost cost him his life.
The last two years have always carried a different weight for me. But now, watching my youngest son, Jordan, take the field for his senior year and final season of football, every practice, every snap, and every Friday night means just a little more.
For me, it’s never been about being a highly rated star athlete, rankings, offers, stats, or attention. Those things are great, but they were never the reason.
It’s about what this game teaches you.
Discipline. Accountability. Preparation. Toughness. Doing your job when nobody is watching. Leaving everything you have on the field. And most importantly, supporting the teammates and brothers standing beside you when you’re in the middle of the battle.
The mindset this final season is simple: focus on the standard, not the scoreboard. Control what you can control. Win your rep. Do your job. Be there for your brothers. And when your opportunity comes, be ready.
21, empty the tank this year. No regrets,TRUST ME you will look back at your football days and your kids will ask. No wondering if you could’ve worked harder or given more. When that final whistle blows, walk away knowing you gave your teammates, your coaches, your family, and this game everything you had.
I know how quickly the opportunity to play this game can be taken away. That’s why I’m going to appreciate every practice, every Friday night, every snap and every moment I get to watch #21 play one final season.
Moving here from the northeast without family wasn’t easy, but we were blessed to find a family through @ihs_bullsfootball and to have an incredible coach, leader and a man of faith in @coachkinard 🙏🏻
