During my recent visit to Sri Lanka with @minesadvisorygroup , I had the privilege of meeting Victoria.
When she was 18, she found an interesting object lying on the ground while she was out collecting firewood.
She didn’t know what it was but her curiosity got the better of her. She wanted to open it, and find out what might be inside. Her first instinct was to bite it… nothing happened.
She threw it on the ground and tried to kick it. Again, nothing happened. She lifted it into her lap and sat down to exert some pressure on what she thought was the lid. She pushed her upper hand firmly into the object to try and release it.
And then she woke up in hospital: missing two hands, part of her face and having suffered internal injuries to the area near her heart.
Victoria’s is a remarkable story of resilience and hope.
But her story also shows why this work matters. Landmines and unexploded weapons can remain hidden for decades, putting children at risk as they go about their everyday lives.
The land must be cleared, so that no other child has to face what Victoria did.
Read my full reflections on my visit to Sri Lanka on MAG’s website.

For me, the tie was the highlight. Every single bead was hand-stitched.

Sometimes the life you're complaining about is the exact life someone else is praying to have.

And one heartbreaking scene from Kartavya (2026) captures that truth without needing a single dramatic speech.

A young boy sits at a dinner table, quietly watching a mother lovingly feed her child.

For most people, it's an ordinary family moment.

But for someone who has grown up without that kind of affection, it's everything.

The warmth of a mother's touch. The comfort of being cared for. The simple feeling of knowing that someone is looking after you.

Things we often take for granted can mean the entire world to someone who has never experienced them.

And when the boy's eyes begin to fill with tears, the scene becomes almost impossible to watch without feeling something.

Because he's not looking at something expensive or extraordinary.

He's looking at something money could never replace.

A mother's love.

That's what makes this moment from Netflix's Kartavya so emotionally devastating.

Shout out @nike for lacing the kid twin. No cap. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
