You all have seen it so lets gooo⏬

This is why you need a crisis comms strategy 👀

A brand has gained A LOT of attention from a veryyy creative application for a role.

But instead of hiring her and posting the video as a celebration of finding someone for the role, they used her creative genius to go viral.

Without her.

And that worked.

But for ALL the wrong reasons... 📳

Their comments are full of people asking if she got the job.

Full of people expressing how they don't agree with them using her creative genius to help themselves.

People are publicly saying they will not buy from them until they address the “cake queen” crisis [that they have created themselves], every post afterwards has comments with people asking about the genius girl behind the application..

And the longer they don't respond, the more frustrated people are getting with the brand in the comments.

Even if her experience isn't exactly what they were looking for, that's not the point, they used her creativity to gain attention on their brand and in the process have made themselves, and I quote the comment section, look like a bunch of “mean girls”.

Probably not the vibe they are going for. 👀

And they still haven't even addressed it, they are ignoring it and posting as if nothing has happened, hoping it will go away while brand sentiment is crashing rapidity. 📉

All brands should have a crisis comms strategy so if things like this happen you know what to do.

The internet is fast and you need to be quick on responding.

Ignoring the situation is not the best strategy 🍊
