MJJVaults

THIS IS IT: THE ARCHIVE.

After a lot of waiting, planning, and working behind the scenes, I’m officially introducing a new MJJVaults series dedicated to preserving the visual history of Michael Jackson’s This Is It era.

Rehearsals. Movie material. Behind-the-scenes footage. News reports. Extras. Interviews. Production material. Basically, everything surrounding This Is It that deserves to be preserved and documented.

The series has officially started uploading to YouTube, with the movie extras currently being added. The first video, “Making Smooth Criminal,” is up NOW through my story. Rehearsal footage is planned to begin arriving around mid to late October.

I know I said a documentary or a book. This isn’t exactly that, but I think this is the next best thing. Rather than putting everything into one massive project, I want to build something that can continue growing over time.

The plan is to upload once or twice a week, with at least one video every week, but there won’t be a specific upload day. Every video will be processed through HandBrake to ensure the best possible quality, and every thumbnail will be made to the highest standard I can achieve.

I may also work on audio restoration/remastering for certain releases. I’ve already experimented with some Dolby Atmos renders of songs from the project, and depending on the material, some of those may eventually accompany the videos.

And who knows... if this grows into something bigger, THIS IS IT: THE ARCHIVE could potentially become its own website someday.

For now, though, this is simply about preserving the footage, documenting the era, and giving these pieces of Michael’s final project the presentation they deserve.

A true MJJVaults production. For the King.
