I am old enough to remember barbers who didn’t need to create the line in the first place, and could create their equivalent of the skinfade haircut in a matter of minutes. I should know - I received many of these haircuts over the first few decades of my life (I’m now 71). It puzzles me why modern batbers need to create a skinfade in this way. I now cut my own hair and still use the skills I saw my barbers use to perfect my own skinfade (well, not shaved with a razor, but cut as close as a zero overlap clipper can do. Takes me 20 minutes at most.
