Did they teach you this in barber school? 👀
Sometimes it’s not about using more guards or taking more steps. It’s about understanding how to use your tools and letting your technique do the work.

Clipper over comb is one of those skills that can completely change the way you approach a blend.

Barbers, what’s one technique you wish you had learned sooner?

The secret isn’t cutting more hair. It’s knowing what NOT to cut. 👀

Clipper over comb isn’t just about removing bulk. It’s about controlling the shape, preserving the weight, and creating a blend without taking away more than you need.

Sometimes the best result comes from knowing when to stop.

Watch that line disappear. ✂️🔥

Clipper over comb is one of those techniques that makes all the difference when it comes to creating a clean, seamless blend. Sometimes it’s not about doing more—it’s about knowing exactly where to take the weight out.

A little barber education at Paul Mitchell with some unexpected entertainment at the end. 😂✂️

Special guest appearances by @bymatthewalan and @hausofskkyy … although one of them didn’t exactly plan on being part of the video. 😂🎬 The panic face made the final cut. 💀🤣

Watch what happens when you remove the bulk before chasing the blend. ✂️🔥

Clipper over comb gives you control over the shape and weight of the haircut, letting you soften that transition without relying on guards to do all the work.

Less bulk. Cleaner blend. Watch that line disappear.

Let me save you hours. 💈

Instead of cutting in a line and then spending time blending it out, try establishing your fade weight with clipper-over-comb FIRST.

Once that weight is established, create your skin line and fade up into it. Work smarter, not harder. 🔥

Sometimes, changing the order of your steps makes all the difference.

Clipper-over-comb is one of those techniques that makes a huge difference when you learn to use it properly. 💈

Removing bulk, refining the shape, and blending the sides without relying entirely on guards. Sometimes it’s the fundamentals that make the biggest difference.

A good trimmer makes a BIG difference when you’re doing a beard trim. 👀

For me, it’s not just about creating a clean outline

it’s about being able to go back over the beard and catch those little missed hairs that can make the finished trim look unfinished.

Clean lines + good visibility + a trimmer that actually grabs the hair = a much cleaner finish.

The little details matter.

I wish I knew this earlier…

Once I understood how to use clipper-over-comb to actually control the shape, removing these lines got SO much easier.

Save this for your next cut. ✂️

You might not AGREE with this… 👀💈
Clipper-over-comb is one of those fundamental barbering techniques that can take your cutting to the next level. Learning to control your comb, remove weight, and create seamless transitions without relying on guards for everything is a skill worth mastering. The more you understand the technique, the more control you have over your finished result.

And a quick reminder: psoriasis is not contagious. Let’s be mindful before making assumptions about someone’s scalp.

Sometimes you don’t need another guard or another step — you just need to know how to use the tools already in your hand.
Clipping through the comb lets me control exactly how much weight I’m taking out and where I’m taking it out. Once you get comfortable with the technique, that heavy line can disappear pretty damn fast.
