I've spent so many years sharing my City story. Of how I fell in love with a football club for all of its imperfections when I visited Maine Road for the first time in 1996. The scoreboard didn't work. A plastic seagull/hawk swung from the Kippax stand. The subs bench was plastic garden furniture. None of the stands matched. I was a teenager often mocked & bullied at school. A right ugly duckling. For me, City was love at first sight. The football at the time was mostly terrible. Five managers in 18 months. Demonstrations outside the ground. The shame of relegation and the dour times relentless. A 6-0 win over Swindon Town a mere shining light. Relegation to the third tier of English football brought more embarrassment. Macclesfield away a reality. I went to games and then got my season ticket - my first season the one before Division Two. Home & away watching the Blues. I watched us get beat at home to Bury, Wimbledon, Wycombe Wanderers & Stockport County. Trips to the Hawthorns, the Riverside, Highfield Road & St Andrews ended in defeat. Mocked, ridiculed, pitied. Then the slow rise again. Joe Royle. 1999. The Keegan era. We endured - but I enjoyed too. The self-deprecating humour we developed together as a fanbase. The friendships we formed. The blue ties that bind us together as a community. The friends for life from this club. The boyfriends gone by. The husband I married. The children I birthed. All tied to my club. All thanks to my club. My Manchester City. I can't talk about anything to do with the process right now. I've turned down every media request (and a lot of money too, but it's never about that for me), please respect I can't. But my support for the club, for City, will never waver. Owners, managers, players all come and go. The one constant is the club - as long as I have City, a City, at the end of this, I'll be happy & relieved. The division to me doesn't matter. I've already done three of them - and if that didn't test my loyalty, this certainly won't. I didn't sign up for silverware - I signed up to belong. To feel at home. To have as much fun away from the pitch as the players do on it. We will be here. Wherever here is. CTID 🩵
I owe yall a story time. Callan started having these near fainting spells at the end of August. His face looked dusty/ blue and his body went limp for 30 seconds. We had nooo idea what it could be so immediately took him to the pediatrician. She found out his vitamin d levels are low so we thought supplementing would help, annnd slowly he had a few more episodes until last week, 3 back to back day and the very last one, he had the scariest eye and lip twitching along with tensing. So we got in to see a pediatric neurologist and Callan is now on a 3 day long EEG monitoring. (Btw, insurance wanted to wait 4 weeks for authorization 🤯 so out of pocket we go). We are so thankful he is still so active + happy in between these episodes. Grateful to have an incredible support system. Yall please pray he is just going through breath holding spells and will grow out of them quickly!!
