“Future Nostalgia” ARTIST SPOTLIGHT!
Mia Makarski (she/her/hers) @miamakarski is a Burlington-based movement artist indulging in intensity, vulnerability, femininity, and exploring theatricality beyond the body’s limits. Performing with pre-professional company Inferno Dance Co. in Rochester, MI from 2023-2025 and currently studying as a Dance major at the University of Vermont, Mia fascinates herself with dynamic performance in both her own dancing and choreographic processes. Her passion for dance stems from how movement can simply make so much sense—or in contrast, the lack of sense and practicality it can have. Mia is also a baker in downtown Burlington and enjoys baking, cooking, and traveling when not dancing.
