UK universities have started cutting modern languages degrees and this is why it’s worrying for the future of our workforce and wider society 📚⬆️ The university of Nottingham is the latest uni to confirm that modern languages courses will be closing permanently due to financial pressures and it makes me SO sad to think that some students will miss out on the chance to study languages because they’re not deemed ‘valuable’ enough to save. A languages degree gives you so much more than just the ability to speak another language - it helps develop communication skills, confidence, cultural awareness and adaptability. Those skills are essential for many careers, and also open doors to international opportunities and connection across the world, in a time when we need it more than ever!!! Share this post to help more people understand why language learning matters 🤍 #learninglanguages #languagesdegree #durhamuniversity

I’ve carried this story with me for years, and sharing it publicly is not something I take lightly. During my senior year at Howard University, I experienced intimate partner violence. What happened changed me, and for a long time, I kept the details to myself. I didn’t tell my family everything until ten years later. I’m sharing this now because I know I’m not the only person who has experienced something like this and struggled with what to do with it afterward. I want to talk about what happened, what I’ve learned, and why the prevention and access to support work @hbcugolftournament is doing matters. This is the first part of a story I’ve never fully shared here. 💜 Content note: This video discusses intimate partner violence. If this is part of your story, too, you don’t owe the internet your details. Take what you need from this conversation and protect your peace. #IntimatePartnerViolence #DomesticViolenceAwareness #ViolencePrevention #HowardUniversity
At Taubah juz 11 ayat 94
