What an incredible mix of celebration, belief, pain and pure magic. So dang lucky to have run alongside @delwatergap the whole way. Even with an injury AND my luteal phase (female runners, HOW DO YOU DO THIS?!), we crossed the finish line together in 3:53!!!

Already miss every second of it🥲THANK YOU for all the love, support and donations along the way. Ran my legs off for @shoe4africa, and so much good is coming from it. ❤️❤️❤️

Epic Night at the Hollywood Bowl🤯

One month since I quit Taekwon-Do.

I thought I’d be itching to train by now. Honestly, I’m still tired.

I stepped away because the environment had stopped feeling safe for me, mentally and physically. I was burnt out, and I needed space to work out what my relationship with Taekwon-Do and the Taekwon-Do community could look like again.

I’ve slept a lot. The stress and ostracism is still there, and I haven’t found the energy or desire to return to my own training yet. After nearly 30 years, that feels strange.

But alongside that, I’ve enjoyed having spare time again. Reading, being creative, exploring ideas and spending time with people without always being the person organising everything.

And I’ve realised how much my WMA community has my back. When you’re used to being the coach and supporting everyone else, receiving that support yourself means a great deal.

I’m still struggling with some of it. I’m also enjoying parts of life I hadn’t made enough room for.

There’s no return date to announce. For now, I’m grateful for that room—and for the people helping me feel more like myself.

Idioms are expressions whose meanings differ from the literal meanings of their words. For example, “break a leg” means good luck, while “spill the beans” means reveal a secret. Idioms have existed for centuries and often originate from historical events, cultural traditions, or everyday activities. They make language more colorful, expressive, and sometimes confusing for people learning a new language.
Interestingly, many idioms have mysterious or disputed origins. The phrase “raining cats and dogs” has been used for hundreds of years, but nobody knows exactly where it came from. Different languages also have completely different idioms for the same situation. This means someone learning English might understand every word in “it’s not my cup of tea” and still have absolutely no idea what tea has to do with personal preferences.
