A video from Damoh District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh has gone viral, showing the mother of a sick child mopping the hospital floor, raising questions about the hospital’s sanitation arrangements. According to media reports, 58-year-old Halki Bai had brought her son, who was suffering from diarrhoea, to the hospital for treatment. The woman alleged that the nurse on duty asked her to clean the floor after it became dirty. Reports state that the hospital has 55 sanitation personnel, including 52 cleaners and three supervisors, while approximately ₹8–9 lakh is reportedly spent on sanitation services every month. Following the controversy, the hospital administration issued show-cause notices to the nursing officer on duty, the sanitation agency and the assistant hospital manager. However, the hospital management reportedly said the video was around one-and-a-half months old and presented a different account of the incident. An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances and determine responsibility. Disclaimer: This video is being used strictly for news and informational purposes only.
