Brazilian artist Lucas Rubly engages with the nostalgic passage from innocence to awareness, seeking a way to express what has been and what can be recalled. Flower vases, sandcastles, baskets of fruit and the reflections of trees upon water become images of a reality inherently vowed to change. Yet, his works are not reminders of the world’s finitude, but rather testimonies to its existence: in the gradual wilting of a flower in a vase, the destiny of life is reflected in its melancholic brevity and surprising beauty.
