#NEWS - Nathalia Gadelha, a 20-year-old rising aviator, has been identified as the co-pilot aboard a Learjet 60 that crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday. The private jet was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it reportedly plunged at more than 20,000 feet per minute before crashing. Disturbing air traffic control audio captured a desperate plea for help in the moments leading up to the tragedy. Gadelha, who grew up in Palm Beach County, made headlines in 2023 after earning her private pilot’s license at just 17 years old, while still in high school and before obtaining her driver’s license. A young life and promising aviation career tragically cut short. 🕊️

Pohjois-Karjalan kaupungeilla ja kunnilla olisi ainutlaatuinen mahdollisuus vapauttaa Palokin kosket. Ennallistaminen olisi suuri teko Saimaan lohen pelastamiseksi, luonnon ennallistamiseksi sekä Itä-Suomen elinvoiman vahvistamiseksi. Hankkeen eteen on tehty laajalla rintamalla töitä. Erityisen merkittävää on, että kyselyn mukaan alueen asukkaiden enemmistö haluaa nähdä kuohuavat kosket. Kansalaisjärjestöt ja luonnonsuojelijat ovat voimakkasti mukana. Kansainvälisesti mittava hanke on kerännyt jo ilman kampanjointia lähes neljä miljoonaa yksityistä rahoitusta. Valmiutta osallistua kustannuksiin on laajasti. Suomalainen elinkeinoelämä on myös osoittanut kiinnostusta rahoittaa hanketta. Valtion viesti on ollut alusta lähtien selvä. Omaisuutta ei sosialisoida, vaan voimalaitoksesta maksetaan käypä markkinahinta. Voimala on kaksi promillea Suomen vesivoiman tehosta ja 0,04 promillea maamme sähkönkulutuksesta, eikä voimalalla ole merkitystä säätövoimana tai huoltovarmuuden kannalta. Kyse on valinnasta tulevaisuuden ja menneisyyden välillä. Tämä on ainutlaatuinen mahdollisuus. Toivon todella, että paikallisilta päättäjiltä löytyy rohkeutta tehdä myönteinen päätös ja vapauttaa kosket.
