The best kind of homework 🛒 Drop me a comment and I’ll DM you the link to the Substack.
California: More views of fire activity from the Norte Fire earlier today in Orange County from Darin McClure. Activity has since diminished some, with numerous homes lost. More reasons to pass the Fix Our Forests Act, extend wildfire aviation contracts, and support the boots on the ground with better pay and benefits. Eventually Congress will take it seriously. Thanks to all the subscribers who make this possible for everyone! We are 100% supported through Substack subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions to the Substack support charitable donations to help injured firefighters and their families in need. Also paid subscriptions get exclusive workouts, more podcasts, more articles, automatically entered into our giveaways, and access to the entire archives. Sourdough Starter Feeding Ratios + How They Work for Baking You NEVER need to keep a massive jar of starter on your counter to feed and maintain everyday. You can scale any feeding ratio UP when you need more starter for baking and DOWN when you’re not. I used a 1:10:10 feeding ratio here but this was just an example. 📌 1:10:10 FEEDING RATIO * 45g starter * 450g water * 450g flour * Total When Peaked = 945g starter! 📌 IMPORTANT: ⏳ Over time, your feeding ratios can impact the balance of yeast and bacteria in your starter. 🌾 Higher feeding ratios = more “food” for your starter = slower peak 🌾 Lower feeding ratios = less “food” for your starter = faster peak 🌡️ Temperature and starter strength matter. My 1:10:10 feeding took about 12 hours to peak…but yours may take more or less time depending on your environment. #sourdough #sourdoughstarter #sourdoughbread #sourdoughbaking #sourdoughtips
