A few things from our collection that speak to us. 🤎

There’s just something about these old early American pieces that gets me every time. The history, the wear, the little imperfections, and the thought of all the hands that came before ours.

An old pewter plate marked S.S., a worn candle holder in old black paint, a well-loved rye basket, an initialed pewter tankard, and a few old books resting in a bed of wool—some dating all the way back to 1790.

I love wondering about the stories behind each one. Who was S.S.? Who held these books? What home did that candle holder once light?

We don’t really think of ourselves as the owners of these old treasures. We’re simply the caretakers of these beauties for a little while, grateful to give them a place in our home and to keep their stories and history alive for the next generation. 🤎🕯️
