The allegations were already a lot: police say Shannon Marie Dillon stole a marked sheriff’s car from outside the Broward Sheriff’s Office and drove it north before deputies found her wearing a sheriff’s office vest.

Then came the bond hearing. Video shows Dillon smiling, laughing and talking over the judge as he reads the charges. He repeatedly asks her to listen, while people in the courtroom exchange looks at what’s unfolding. At one point, Dillon promises the judge she won’t disappoint him. Her remarks then turn personal, and the judge urges her to discuss any mental health concerns with the public defender he appoints.

Dillon faces multiple charges in the case. The stolen patrol car got her to court; what she said once she arrived had the room reacting.
