Day one of CBC ALC55 in Washington, DC is in the books.
Started the morning with the Black Legislative Leaders Network (BLLN), led by Executive Director Jasper Hendricks, for a health panel that brought state legislative leaders and health policy experts to the same table. Honest, practical conversations ,the kind we need more of.
From there, it was up to the Hill for a meeting with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and members of the Congressional Black Caucus.
A real highlight of the day: meeting and talking with Dr. Agenia Walker Clark, President of Fisk University, and her team. Grateful for the conversation and inspired by the work they’re doing.
And we closed the day at the BLLN reception, hosted by my great colleague and friend Labriah Holt and the team at BGR.
Day one, fulfilled with purpose. Ready for what today brings.
