A Walmart distribution center in Tennessee, was hit by a suspected foodborne illness outbreak that left 19 people hospitalized and dozens of others needing medical evaluation following a potluck meal. ————————— According to WTVF, the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency said approximately 25 to 30 people were triaged by emergency responders, while 19 were transported to hospitals after officials received reports that 80 or more people may have been affected by illnesses at the facility. ————————— The incident reportedly occurred after employees shared a potluck meal, prompting emergency calls as workers began experiencing symptoms. One emergency call described an employee who had been vomiting for approximately 15 minutes. The caller suggested that homemade rice brought into the facility may have been responsible. ————————— The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed that it is investigating a possible foodborne illness outbreak linked to a meal at the distribution center. Health officials have not identified a specific food item or pathogen responsible for the illnesses. Thoughts?
