Eating and training have been a lot of fun in the past 3 or 4 weeks. I chose to enter a real hypertrophy phase and decided I wouldn't let the scares of body fat or the scares of getting fat get to my head. Body weight will trend up, strength will definitely go up, and body fat might but I don't care. I'm committing to this for at least 16 weeks. Then I'll decide what I do depending on where I'm at.
I'm 31 years old now so body composition and muscle mass is not the only option. The only focus, making sure I am and stay healthy, is a priority. I want to be as pain-free as possible and on top of that I want to be capable and athletic. I want to be running, sprinting, playing flag football, cycling, and doing all of it. Next spring, if I ever choose to challenge myself with something else, whether it's Apex, a half marathon, or simply playing flag, I will be ready for anything
Being away from social media for a bit has been feeling really good. I might post here every now and again because I feel like it but I'm very excited to see that men in their late 20s, 30s, and even 40s, who have kids or are thinking of having kids, choose to prioritize themselves and not just train because they have to or just to remain healthy. I think it's a beautiful thing to see busy men, former athletes, get after it and chase something meaningful outside of family and work.
P.S. You can see calories and macros on the first picture but I have no clue if it's precisely that. I created myself a structure but the exact food choices vary on a day-to-day basis. I'm consistent enough to get the needle moving. Oh and hey, you see that I'm eating cereals on my first slide. It's not only about nutrient density when you need to eat that much
