Some would say we had absolutely no business putting an octo full of new rowers on the water in that wind…
We say: character and skill building.
Today’s Adult Learn to Row had it all - an octo, a LOT of wind, some very committed new rowers, and a cox who took “do whatever it takes to save the boat” a little too literally and ended up swimming beside it.
Meanwhile, Coach Sam 🐶 took up his position on the end of the boat, offering absolutely no useful technical advice.
Was it textbook rowing conditions? No.
Did everyone survive, learn something and have a cracking time? Absolutely.
Just another perfectly normal morning at BCRC.
