A viral Reddit thread titled “We won’t take care of you” is forcing a hard conversation that most families are avoiding. A growing number of adult children are quietly saying they will not, or simply cannot, be their parents’ hands-on caregivers. It is painful to hear, but it exposes a real demographic collision: families are smaller, kids live scattered across states, and the cost of care is staggering. Here is the math nobody wants to face. Roughly 80% of retirees will eventually need long-term support, and home care or a facility can run anywhere from $75,000 to over $200,000 a year. And the biggest myth of all: Medicare pays $0 for ongoing custodial care, the daily help with bathing, dressing, meals, and dementia supervision that most people actually need. So the real takeaway is not resentment, it is planning. Build your own “Plan B” before you need it. Understand that Medicaid audits five years of your finances under the “look-back rule,” so never transfer your home or money without a certified elder law attorney. Name a healthcare proxy and power of attorney now. And reframe what you ask of your kids, not time or money, but advocacy: reviewing bills, joining doctor calls, and watching for fraud. Have you had the kitchen-table conversation yet? #Caregiving #LongTermCare #AgingInPlace

Monami's mother's words proved true once again today. Due to not having a good relationship with Rajbir and Monami, Jeetu instructed Srijla to harass them and tried to keep Rajbir in the pool for longer than permitted, violating Bigg Boss rules. Such behavior of using others out of personal vendetta and obsession is extremely deplorable. Questions are now being raised as to whether Jeetu is even fit to stay in the Bigg Boss house with this kind of mindset. #BiggBossBangla #SouravGanguly #PrinceOfKolkata #NonFiction #RealityShow #NewPromo #StarJalsha #durgojoysohojnoy #JioHotstar #bigboss #BigBossBangla #BiggBossBangla2026 #BiggBossBanglaUpdate #BiggBossBanglaLive #BBB #durgojoysohojnoy #BBMoments #BBBanglaFans
Today was the slowest marathon I’ve ever run & it’s the one I’m most proud of. I’ve never wanted to quit a race more. My legs were done at mile 14, I *tried* to quit at mile 19 but I’m not sure how to? I walked into a medical tent & they just gave me a Tylenol & Vaseline on a stick, so I kept going. Then I got a text (2nd slide) from my 9 year old (via my wife) and I decided I was going to finish even if I had to walk the rest of the way. The video in slide 3 is me telling him at mile 22 he’s the reason I’m still running. Somehow I was able to get running again & finished with a smile on my face. I am so grateful for my family. I am so grateful for New York City and I am so grateful for everyone who took a moment out of their day to cheer me on. Apologies if I miss anyone here!
