A pretty cool full-circle moment with Ilona.

Last September, she reached out to us about redoing her backyard patio in the Garth & Twenty Road area of Hamilton. She had some older, outdated patio stones and wanted to completely freshen up the space with a new paver patio and fence.

We ended up installing Techo-Bloc Blu 60 in Champlain Grey, along with a new stone step and railing to make it easier for her to get in and out of the backyard.

Fast forward almost exactly a year, and we were back this Friday to clean and seal the patio as recommended by the manufacturer.

While I was chatting with Ilona, she told me something I thought was pretty funny, but also meant a lot.

She said when she first talked to me on the phone last year, she pictured me as some middle-aged guy based on how I spoke 😂

Then I showed up to quote the job and she realized how young I was — and how young the rest of our crew was — and she admitted she was a little nervous about whether we had enough experience to take on the project.

A year later, she told me she couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and that she couldn’t imagine having anyone else do it. She even said she’s happier with it now than she was the day we finished.

I really appreciated her telling me that.

Being a young business owner with a young crew, I know there are going to be people who question our experience when they first meet us. The only thing we can really do is let our work prove it.

And for me, getting a picture like this and hearing a client say they’re still this happy a full year after the job was finished means more than just hearing they love it on the day we leave.

That’s what we’re trying to build at 905 Landscaping — work that our clients are just as happy with years later as they were on day one.
