Jake Sim was born in Seoul, South Korea, but moved to Brisbane, Australia, at the age of nine, where he grew up playing sports like soccer and violin. His life completely changed in 2019 when he decided to audition for Belift Lab in Seoul after being inspired by BTS, leading him to pack his bags and move back to South Korea alone to pursue his new dream. With only nine months of formal trainee experience under his belt, he entered the survival reality show I-LAND in 2020 as a relative novice compared to many of his peers. Throughout the intense competition, Jake quickly captured the hearts of viewers and producers alike with his rapid growth, undeniable charm, and fierce work ethic. He successfully secured a spot in the final lineup, finishing in third place and officially debuting as a member of ENHYPEN in November 2020. Despite his short training period, his determination allowed him to quickly bridge the gap in his skills, transforming him into a vital vocalist and charismatic performer for the group. Today, Jake is celebrated globally not only for his sharp dance moves and sweet vocals but also as a bridge for the group's international fans due to his fluent English
