What Dr. Brown is saying here also aligns with Dr. Russell Barkley’s insight that motivation is inextricably tied to emotion. Dr. William Dodson described ADHD as having an interest-based nervous system. He identified five factors that can increase motivation for ADHDers (based on observations of his psychiatry patients): Interest Novelty Passion Urgency Challenge So how about it? Next time someone asks you if you have ADHD, maybe you’ll just plainly tell them you have EDM (Erect*le Dysfunction of the Mind) 🤪. I cite a lot of Dr. Brown’s work in my book, and for those who are interested, he published a great book about ADHD and emotional dysregulation titled “Smart, but Stuck.” #adhd #psychology #emotions #motivation #neurodivergent Hi there! My name is Dr. Gilly. I’m a clinical psychologist, a mom, and a writer with ADHD. I create content for neurodivergent individuals, other therapists, parents, and individuals with conditions that often co-occur with ADHD and autism. A lot of my content also focuses on writing, social skills, and my special interests. I work best with a whole lot of realness and humor and a hint of bite. My book on the emotional dysregulation+rejection sensitivity components of ADHD in females (“ALLOW ME TO INTERRUPT”) is officially out! Consider following because you may never see me again! 🦸🏻‍♀️ Dr. Gilly Kahn does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment via social media. 2027: I’m The Commander Of FCT Election Field Operations, I’ll Coordinate Tinubu’s Campaign In FCT And Rivers State — Minister Nyesom Wike The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared himself the commander of field operations for the 2027 elections in the FCT, saying he will coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaigns in the territory and Rivers State. Wike spoke on Monday at a Rainbow Coalition stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, where members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agreed to work together ahead of the 2027 elections. “I am in charge of the FCT election. I am the commander of field operations as far as the FCT election is concerned,” he said. He added, “For the presidency, all of us have agreed that it is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am going to coordinate the FCT and Rivers State. So you can imagine how important it is.” Wike urged members of both parties to put aside their political differences. “I want to let all of you know that we are going to work together. Nobody should say, ‘I am PDP’ or ‘I am APC.’ For the purpose of this election, we are together,” he said. At the meeting, PDP candidates for National Assembly seats in the FCT declared support for APC candidates. The coalition also agreed to back Tinubu’s re-election and APC candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives, while leaving other contests to the respective parties. Wike cited the 2024 Edo governorship election as an example of how cross-party alliances could influence election outcomes. He highlighted FCT projects, including road construction, school renovations and police stations, as well as the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission and the Women Affairs and Youth Development Secretariats. He challenged critics to identify any of the FCT’s six area councils that had not benefited from the administration’s projects. Wike defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging the temporary hardship they had caused but insisting they were necessary. He also reiterated his support for state police to tackle insecurity.
