![Newly released messages from #NolanWells’ phone are raising more questions about the circumstances surrounding the 18-year-old’s mysterious dea@h.
Nolan’s family has made public a nearly 300-page forensic report compiled by Garrett Discovery and verified by PEOPLE. The findings include private #Snapchat messages and conversations from 29 group chats, some of which continued after Nolan disappeared from #HornIsland on July 4. In one exchange, a person claimed Nolan was last seen around 6 p.m. walking back toward his boat with another man, writing, “he never disappeared with [redacted] when it was time to leave around like 6 he got off our boat with this other guy and thy started walking back to their boat.” Other messages suggested growing concern among the group, including “There is def some sus sh*t going on” and “Someone said [redacted] was acting weird too?”
________
The conversations also reveal how some of the people believed to be Nolan’s friends discussed handling potential police questioning. In one exchange, a person advised, “the smart move is to ask for an attorney and that doesn’t mean we’re guilty it just smart so we don’t get played by some potential bias cop.” Others urged the group not to make assumptions, writing, “Don’t speculate about sh*t yall” and “just stick to what you know happened.” Another message warned, “Bc they can try to get your a**.”
________
By July 14, conversations had shifted toward Nolan’s funeral and the growing public scrutiny surrounding those who were among the last to see him alive. One person suggested, “We need to go to Nolan’s funeral and get with all our other black friends to prove a statement for the media.” The newly released records come as Nolan’s family continues pushing for a federal investigation into his passing. A grand jury declined to bring criminal charges, claiming that his cause of de@th was consistent with drowning. However, it’s important to note that Wells’ autopsy found no water in his lungs. His loved ones remain unsatisfied with the grand jury’s decision and continue seeking answers.](https://s8.imginn.com/847048958_18475861114114396_3481868378089212293_n.jpg?t51.82787-15/847048958_18475861114114396_3481868378089212293_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_p1170x1170_tt6&_nc_cat=104&ig_cache_key=NDAwNzgzMTMzODU3MTc2MTQ5Mw%3D%3D.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkZFRUQueHBpZHMuMTM1MC5zZHIucmVndWxhcl9waG90by5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=L1YcytHYgwUQ7kNvwGUkPD7&_nc_oc=AdrjAez53VDMfhB7gVYmS2tMWkiEjkOUswyKjid6W5enEs_V-mPK5xM-2OeSS47EIuu30B_IQRcVLmE_D86OEG2w&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=gp2Dsi1XsrwvSt-zdflH3w&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQNXOZNN_FdYfRXDfFTGuLMQTJ8q0hG8AA28a8B5zjeDyg&oe=6AD9BB9E)

The Love Hypothesis (2026)
The Love Hypothesis is a romantic comedy directed by Claire Scanlon, based on Ali Hazelwood's bestselling novel of the same name. The film stars Lili Reinhart as Olive Smith and Tom Bateman as Dr. Adam Carlsen, alongside Rachel Marsh, Jaboukie Young-White, Nicholas Duvernay and Arty Froushan. It premiered on Prime Video on September 23, 2026. The story follows Olive Smith, a Ph.D. candidate whose life takes an unexpected turn when she impulsively kisses Adam Carlsen, an intimidating professor in her department. What begins as a situation meant to convince her best friend Anh that she has moved on from her crush eventually turns into a fake relationship between Olive and Adam. As they spend more time together, their carefully planned arrangement becomes increasingly complicated by genuine feelings and an unexpected connection.
At its heart, the film explores the difference between what people plan, expect and actually feel. Olive is focused on her academic future while Adam has a reputation for being difficult and intimidating, yet their relationship gradually challenges the assumptions they have about each other. The combination of academic life, friendship, humour and an unexpected romance gives the story its central charm.
