Last of the summer flowers today (Saturday)
@oldplace A moody photo shoot for the latest summer flowers that have thrilling stories to tell. Long, languid days in the summer garden, sitting quietly while armies of various bees sip from their crowns…brief, warm nights watching the resident skunk tip-toe through, eating a snail here and a strawberry there…Waiting all the time to be chosen by the oddly-clothed caretaker, who brings them water and sings poorly, but still somehow soothingly as she de-tangles weeds from their throats and fills the birdbath—an indulgence for the songbirds who snack on seed pods and the night fox who passes through on his way home from the hunt. And, now, before they too get turned into the soil to be part of next year’s beauty, they are plucked and paired into beautiful bouquets to remind admirers that magic is real and it’s easily found in the garden. Goodbye summer; we have loved every minute. Thank you to
@carranzafamilyfarm for allowing me to add your lovely flowers to my own, making the bouquets even more special and vibrant! 💕
