🏁 His path to F1

Antonelli started karting at a very young age and quickly became successful. He moved through junior single-seater categories unusually quickly.

His major breakthrough came in Formula 2, where he won the 2024 championship despite being only 17. Mercedes had been monitoring him for years through its junior program.

He then made the huge jump directly into F1 with Mercedes in 2025, replacing Lewis Hamilton after Hamilton moved to Ferrari.

⭐ Why is he considered special?

Antonelli isn't just young — he's extremely fast for his age. What makes people particularly interested in him is his ability to adapt to powerful cars and difficult conditions despite having relatively little experience compared with other F1 drivers.

He's also part of a new generation of drivers expected to shape F1's future alongside names such as Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc.
