Isabel Allende is one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary authors, known for her richly imaginative storytelling, unforgettable women, and blending of history, politics, love, and magical realism. Born in Chile and later based in the United States, Allende has published more than 20 books that have been translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.

Published in 1987, Eva Luna follows a young woman whose extraordinary gift for storytelling becomes her means of survival, self-discovery, and freedom. Moving through a world shaped by political upheaval, violence, desire, and transformation, Eva learns that stories have the power not only to preserve experience, but to reshape reality itself. In Eva Luna, Allende creates a sweeping, intimate portrait of a woman finding her voice and discovering the power that comes with telling her own story.

“Eva Luna” is a play by Caridad Svich based on the novel by Isabel Allende. A co-production by Echo Theatre Dallas & Teatro Dallas
Premieres November 6th.
