3rd day it was only over 8 miles. Today, the weather was the challenge, several people skipped this part of the hike because people were worried about the thunderstorm warning (metal hiking poles and being on top of a mountain maybe not the best mix), and one of the roads got washed out from the night before. But that didn't deter us, and luckily, we only saw rain and cold temps. We also saw quite a few mountain bikers. The cold temps made for a short day, because we ran down the Col de la Seigne to Courmayer. We did part of this hike due to time. Would I do the rest of the loop? If it wasn't so crowded, I'd love to.
