There are gestures which give consent—
they graze the opening of the word “implement”.

Marks cajole from summer to fall—
the lingering green and the brown both stall.

Wed one’s self to the floating descent—
where wisp and wind both find consent.

Stammer with the tongues of gold—
a bend and flutter to an ancient hold.

Scatter deep, then scatter far—
until the ochre berry knows the heart.
