“Fast Flying 40”
Seems like every time we finally put this “off the table”, CP goes “Nope!” and brings it right back! An EMD SD40-2, 45 Years Young, making the round trip from the Twin Cities down to Chicago and back on 248 & 249. Proving in the face of computerization and A.C. Traction she can still get shit done! (The KCS SD70MAC she’s paired with gets a pass, thank you very much!) And complete right down to her original brass bell mounted ahead of the cab!
CP 6024, built March 1981, right back where she was intended to be; up front and movin’!!!
