Yesterday, at the KwaZulu-Natal Investment Conference in Durban, plans for my new studios were officially announced. A proud moment, and one I will hold close to my heart. 🤍

As an actress and creative, I know how much talent, dedication and unseen work goes into bringing our stories to life. To help build a space where that work can grow, where African voices can be heard and where the next generation can imagine a future in this industry, means so much to me.

My heartfelt thanks to the team and partners who believe in this vision and are working alongside us to bring it to life. Every dream needs people willing to help build it.

Now the real work begins. 🎬✨

Check this out. 👍🏻 What do you think?
And before you say “omg rocks are bad, blah blah blah” - This is the first step into what is needed in order to protect infrastructure, roads, property and areas that shouldn’t just be left to being destroyed.

ALSO we need sand replenishment projects in front of this coastal armoring. If that can happen this area will be less likely to cause backwash and less likely to cause the sand to move. Also if there is another severe storm or multiple storms in the future then the coastal armoring that is put in place now will sustain for a certain amount of time. Just how the coastal armoring and riprap that has been in place since the 50s at Aliso Beach and luckily that was there because it did protect Pacific Coast Highway during this hurricane season.

Human-created problems need human-created fixes. Upstream development has literally choked the sand supply along our coastline. #SoLagLocal #WeNeedSand #California #SoCal
