Former NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman has been ordered to pay $4 million in the wrongful death case of Kimberly Fattorini, a 30 year old Playboy casting associate who died in July 2017.

A Los Angeles judge entered the judgment on October 5, after a jury found Merriman, club promoter Elias Wehbe, J.P. Castro and Monica Maass liable last year. The nightclub defendants, including The Highlight Room, Tao Group and The Warwick, were cleared.

Kimberly’s death was ruled accidental, with alcohol, cocaine and GHB in her system. Her parents sued in 2019, pointing to a text she sent the promoter that night saying “you friend just poor’d half G in my drink.” The family claimed “G” meant GHB and the friend was Merriman.

Merriman has denied any wrongdoing, and no criminal charges were ever filed. He has not commented on the judgment. Full story at the link in bio.
