Earlier that afternoon, a full-day vehicle had spotted her crossing the road, and our guide had found footprints in the area. With daylight fading and the park nearing closing time, we began making our way back, though our driver and guide were reluctant to give up on the footprints we had found earlier. We drove slowly along the road, scanning the undergrowth on either side, hoping for even the slightest movement in the shadows. After searching for a while, we finally decided to turn back, accepting that the evening might end without another sighting. But barely a minute later, as we retraced our route, there she was. Choti Madhu’s subadult daughter, sat calmly in the middle of the road. For a moment, we could hardly believe what we were seeing. We had driven past this very stretch just moments ago, looking for her, and now she was sitting right there, as though she had materialised out of the darkness. What followed was a road show that lasted nearly twenty minutes. She began walking straight towards us, her eyes fixed ahead as her powerful frame emerged from the darkness. Every few steps, she would pause beside a tree, lower her head to investigate, and mark her territory before continuing along the road. There was an unhurried confidence in her movements. The conditions, however, were far from ideal. It was already late evening, and the light had almost disappeared beneath the towering monsoon trees that blocked what little daylight remained, leaving the forest in deep shadow. However, the fading light and deep shadows created an aesthetic of their own, lending the footage a raw, almost cinematic quality. With nothing more than a little sharpening and no colour grading whatsoever, the video seemed to find its own artistry in the interplay of amber light, deep blacks, and her glowing stripes, as though the forest itself had painted the scene. Sometimes, all it takes is one last turn, one more stretch of road, or a moment of patience for the forest to reveal what it had kept hidden.
Such a lovely day filled with happiness and warmth! 🤍🎂 Terima kasih untuk semua yang sudah ikut merayakan dan membuatnya terasa begitu spesial. Senang sekali bisa berbagi momen indah ini bersama kalian! 🫶🏻✨ Venue: @maestroforest.resto Photobooth: @phoriaphotobooth @inshanityofc #UnDíaConShani
