ACABOUUUU 😭😭

THE REAL UNCLE TOM💯 #TeamDL

@ashleytheebarroness :
I grew up knowing exactly what somebody meant when they called a Black person an “Uncle Tom.”

Sellout.

Bootlicker.

Working against us.

So finding out that the actual Uncle Tom dies because he REFUSES to do that?

That irritated me bad.

Because Sambo is right there in the book doing exactly what we accuse Tom of doing.

See your true self.
See your successes, your achievements, the love you’ve given and received.
See the life you’ve built, the battles you’ve fought, and the person you’ve become.

Whenever you feel down, stand in front of the mirror.
Don’t just look at what’s in front of you.
Look behind the mirror.
Behind time.
Behind the path you’ve traveled.
Behind every version of yourself.

Trust me, what lies behind the mirror will lift you higher than what you see in front of it.
Your reflection shows who you are today, but your journey reminds you of everything you are. 🩶
