Alam memberi tanpa menghitung, dan ketika kita lalai menjaganya, kitalah yang pada akhirnya kehilangan. Pagi ini, di lahan bekas kebakaran hutan di kawasan Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) Bukit Soeharto, KM 47 Jalan Poros Samarinda-Balikpapan, saya bersama teman-teman @borneokind, komunitas anak muda Kalimantan Timur yang peduli lingkungan, mencoba menjawab isyarat itu dengan cara paling sederhana: menanam pohon. Tanahnya masih menghitam, batang-batang pohon masih menyimpan bekas api. Tetapi melihat ratusan anak muda datang membawa cangkul, bibit, dan ember berisi air, saya yakin luka itu bisa pulih. Terima kasih kepada Borneo Kind dan semua yang hadir. Kepedulian pada lingkungan memang harus diwujudkan dalam tindakan nyata, bukan berhenti pada niat. Saya sampaikan kepada teman-teman muda: menjaga hutan bukan pekerjaan satu orang atau satu lembaga. Ini tanggung jawab kita semua. Satu lubang, satu bibit, satu harapan. Tanah yang sempat terbakar ini kami gemburkan kembali agar akar yang baru punya ruang untuk tumbuh. Terima kasih kepada seluruh teman-teman yang sudah memulai, semoga semangat ini menular ke lebih banyak anak muda. Mereka datang dari beragam latar: komunitas, mahasiswa, relawan, aparat, dan masyarakat sekitar. Satu tujuan, memulihkan hutan. Hutan yang terbakar bisa tumbuh kembali, asal ada yang mau menanam dan merawatnya. Mari ambil bagian, mulai dari satu pohon. Nusantara sebagai Kota Hutan akan tumbuh dari ikhtiar kecil yang kita kerjakan bersama.
Unpopular design opinion: Trying to make every small bathroom look bigger is exactly what’s holding your design back. There’s a common misconception that tiny powder baths need light colors, minimal patterns, and simple finishes to avoid feeling cramped. I couldn’t disagree more. Small spaces are actually the perfect opportunity to take design risks and embrace details that make a room feel special. In this powder bath, we layered floral wallpaper, blue-gray paneled wainscoting, a dark furniture-style vanity, calacatta marble, and warm brass accents. The contrast creates depth, the millwork adds architectural interest, and the wallpaper brings personality. Not every room needs to look bigger. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 14 international solidarity activists face deportation for accompanying Palestinian olive harvester in al-Lubban al-Gharbi They have now been moved to a visa revocation hearing. On October 29th, 14 international solidarity activists were arrested and are now facing deportation after being detained by Israeli occupation forces while accompanying Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest northwest of Ramallah. After armed settlers forced the farmers and activists out of the fields and into the village, occupation soldiers surrounded and entered a Palestinian house where the 14 activists had gathered. They were all detained and accused of violating a Closed Military Zone order, though no such order had been presented to them in the olive fields. The activists were then brought to an Israeli police station and questioned. Israeli forces also detained the mayor of the village, severely beating him, damaging his property, and warning him not to return to his olive fields again. This village, along with many others in the western Ramallah area, have faced increasing attacks by Israeli settlers and occupation forces seeking to cut off Palestinian access to agricultural land and ethnically cleanse the area entirely.
