Had an amazing time hosting The Thanksgiving Praise Affair with @tosinbee. He has been a source of inspiration to me and many others through our early days in music, his excellent delivery has set the tone for how many of us approach faith based music; and it was indeed such a privilege to share in this moment with him. Congratulations sir @tosinbee .

11 weeks ago I got a call from @d.angelopeak telling me he’s running the Chicago Marathon and he asked me if I wanted to run it too. I just said “sure,” and locked in ever since. I’ve never considered myself a “runner” before this but I fully threw myself into a marathon training plan on the Nike Run Club app with only 11 weeks to go. My only training was through this app and with the guided runs by @coachbennett which is why I was so geeked to meet him at the start line 🥲 I didn’t have a bib but I had zero doubt it would come if I trained anyway. 5 weeks into training with pure faith, I secured a bib. This whole thing kinda started out as a “do it for the plot” type thing but along the way it turned into a real exercise of faith… of trusting myself and trusting the universe. Running was a way to meet a higher version of myself. I met her over and over again. No chafing, no bathroom breaks, no toenails lost, no cramps, and no injuries. I hit all my marathon bucket list goals and hit my secret goal which was to finish under 4:30. Trying is so fucking cool. We all try. Try and try again. And as my mom would say, “Endure.” And lastly, thank you to all my friends and your support. I have the greatest friends in the world. I cannot stress this enough, I am absolutely NOTHING without you. 🫂 Til next time!
A huge thank you to @protectsacred for inviting me to be part of your Solidarity Ride for Indigenous Peoples Day! ❤️ It truly means so much to be included in such a meaningful event, and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to share a few songs during the celebration that followed. Probably one of my favorite @georgestrait songs!
