CAN MARRIED PEOPLE STILL TAKE ‘BOYS TRIPS’ AND ‘GIRLS TRIPS’? 👀✈️
Let's make the scenario equal.
You're married.
Your spouse says:
“I'm going away with my friends for four days.”
No spouse.
No kids.
Just the crew.
Immediately you say:
“I'm not comfortable with that.”
They respond:
“Why? Don't you trust me?”
👀
And THAT question changes everything.
Because is trust supposed to mean:
“I should be able to go anywhere, with anybody, and you shouldn't have a problem with it”?
Or can you completely trust your spouse…
and STILL have boundaries about what you believe is appropriate inside a marriage?
But we have to be careful.
Because sometimes people call something a “boundary” when it's really:
“I want to control what you do.”
And sometimes people call something “controlling” because they don't want their spouse having ANY expectations of them.
😂
Marriage doesn't mean ownership.
Your husband isn't your father.
Your wife isn't your mother.
You're still an adult.
But marriage DOES mean your decisions affect somebody besides yourself.
So where's the line?
Because I guarantee some people are going to say:
“My spouse can go wherever they want. I TRUST them.”
Cool.
Let's test that. 😂
Your husband:
VEGAS.
Six single friends.
Four nights.
Bachelor party.
👀
Your wife:
MIAMI.
Six single friends.
Four nights.
Girls' trip.
👀👀
Everybody still cool?
