8 years of being married to my bestest friend in the whole wide world. 🥰

Jacob and I met in high school via mutual friends, were good friends for a while, and started dating the July after graduation. We’re very different people than we were at 18–we’ve quite literally grown up together!—but I’m so thankful that we happened to grow and mature into someone the other person still both liked and loved (which we now recognize is the main reason “high school sweethearts” are pretty rare). We helped each other grow into much better versions of ourselves and couldn’t be more grateful for that. 🧡

Since then we’ve had different jobs, lived in a loft in downtown Kansas City, lived the nomad life for 3 months in an RV, tried & failed at being travel couple influencers (😂), bought our first home, completed our goal of visiting all 50 states before turning 30 (which we started separately and just happened to finish with the same state!), celebrated 13 years of dating, adopted a kitten, and spent many a day doing absolutely nothing together. 🤭

Happy 8 years, my love. Here’s to as many more as this cherished life will give us. 🫶🏻

More Halloween fun for your Monday! I made it back to the city and immediately went to check out this incredible Upper East Side Halloween display! How was I to know that all the scary sidewalk skeletons would be covered up to protect them from the rain. (I will go back…) So I shot the incredible facade, and then went back downtown to check out the West Village. Here are more of my one rainy day finds. I’ve reposted my Halloween cheat sheet on the last slide. If any of you have found some new addresses to check out, please let me know!
