cync는 이번 추석 연휴에도 별도의 휴관 없이 평소와 같이 운영합니다.
녹아내린 별사탕이 거울 위에서 작은 행성처럼 뭉쳐 있는 박경빈의 《Goodwill Moon Rock》. 벽에 드리운 빛의 궤적은 마치 지나가는 달의 잔상 같습니다.
1972년 아폴로 17호가 달에서 가져온 암석은 이듬해 '선의(Goodwill)'라는 이름으로 세계 각국에 나뉘어 전해졌습니다. 총 2킬로그램 남짓의 이 조각들은 이름과 달리 부여된 가치로부터 자유롭지 못해, 소실과 도난을 거듭하며 그때마다 회수되어야 했습니다. 박경빈은 이 무게를 동일한 2킬로그램의 별사탕으로 옮겨, 반구 틀에 채우고 굳히기를 반복해 지름 40센티미터의 달 하나를 직접 빚어냈습니다.
한가위 보름달 아래, 이 조용한 달의 조각 곁에서 잠시 머물러 보시기 바랍니다.
전시 《Fencing with a Ball Point Pen》은 10월 10일까지, 연휴 기간에도 변함없이 이어집니다.

Melted star candies pool into a small planet on a mirrored disc in Kyungbeen Park's Goodwill Moon Rock, while a streak of light across the wall reads like the afterimage of a moon just passed overhead.
Back in 1972, Apollo 17 brought home a moon rock that got carved up and handed out to countries around the world the following year as a token of "goodwill." All told, the pieces weighed just over 2 kilograms, and that goodwill label never really protected them. Fragments went missing, got stolen, turned up decades later, and had to be tracked down again and again. Park takes that same 2 kilograms and rebuilds it in star candy instead, packing it into a domed mold and hardening it in layers until it's a moon of her own making, 40 centimeters across.
Under this year's harvest moon, come sit with this quiet little moon for a while.
