Meet the architect.
#mandala3Śraddhāmālinī was perfectly placed to help transform Mandala because she already knew the space so well. She had spent years visiting the old café that occupied the building, so she understood its character, its possibilities and what could be revealed.
Working with the team and with a very small budget, she helped redesign the space with one big idea: open it up.
Opening the café onto the courtyard. Opening up the big doors. Bringing in more light, air and greenery. Creating the connection with the garden that has become such a special part of Mandala today.
But Śraddhāmālinī’s contribution didn’t stop with the architecture.
She became part of the team and spent a whole year as a member of Mandala’s core team, bringing her creativity, knowledge, energy and care into the everyday life of the café.
As we celebrate three years of Mandala, we’re incredibly grateful for all the talented people who have brought their skills, effort and love to this place.
Śraddhāmālinī is one of them. And the Mandala we know and love today carries a little bit of her in it.
