We spend so much of our lives waiting for the “right time.”

The right time for a spontaneous date night.
The right time to sleep in.
The right time to travel.
The right time to sit quietly with a cup of coffee.
The right time to have an uninterrupted conversation.
The right time to simply breathe.

But when you have children, life rarely waits for the right time.

There are early mornings, messy rooms, loud moments, interrupted conversations, toys everywhere, little hands pulling you back when you're trying to leave, and countless days when you feel completely exhausted.

And yet, somewhere inside all that chaos, childhood is happening.

They are growing while we're busy trying to keep everything together.

One day, the house will be quieter.
The toys will be put away.
The little hands won't reach for ours as often.
The bedtime interruptions will become memories.
The questions, the noise, the cuddles, the drawings, the pretend games, the rushed breakfasts, the soccer fields, the tea parties, and even the exhausting moments will slowly become things we wish we could experience one more time.

That's the strange thing about parenthood:
the moments we sometimes wish would end sooner are often the moments we'll miss the most.

So maybe we don't need to wait for life to become easier before we start enjoying it.

Maybe we can make the ordinary moments count.

Stay a little longer.
Listen a little more.
Play when you're tired.
Show up when they need you.
Sit on the floor.
Have the tea party.
Read the same story again.
Watch the game from the sidelines.
Let them climb onto your back.
Put the phone away for a while.
Laugh at the mess.
Take the picture.
Remember the little things.

Because one day, we’ll get our time again.

But we won't get this exact version of them again.

And these ordinary, messy, exhausting days may quietly become the memories we cherish most.

Save this for the days when parenting feels overwhelming. ❤️
