Do you think the only issue after pregnancy is gaining weight?
I used to think so too.
Nobody warned me that postpartum could mean more than weight gain.
But my body experienced something completely different, did yours too?
I faced things I didn’t even know existed:
De Quervain’s tendinosis
Tennis elbow
Patellar tendinitis in my knee
Plantar fasciitis
Sacroiliitis (back inflammation)
The first time I heard these names, I didn’t even know the spellings.
And yet, they became part of my everyday life.
Some women experience one or two of these. Some experience all of them, like me. And some silently push through pain no one sees.
I wish someone had told me that postpartum isn’t just about “losing the baby weight.”
Women should be encouraged to focus on healing, strength, mobility, and their bodies, not just the number on the scale.
I’ve been dealing with this for four years now.
And I’ll share everything with you about my journey throughout, the doctors I visited, the diagnoses I received, the treatments I tried and the lessons I learned.
Let’s stop asking women when they’re going to “bounce back.” Let’s start supporting the ones who are simply trying to survive another day.
Some people understood me. Some didn’t. Some thought I was exaggerating. Some thought I was lying.
But the truth is: you never really know what someone is carrying behind their smile.
Trying to be the “perfect mom” while managing pain is something many women do quietly.
And they deserve support, not judgment. During this phase, I learned to walk away from people who were quicker to judge than support.
Send this to a mom who needs to hear this today. 🤍
