Open Minds Young Voices

“Freeman and slave, patrician and plebeian, lord and serf, guild-master and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another.”

In the last class, the facilitator on “Nigeria and Economic Development: Preparing Youth for Transformation”, Comrade Echezona Asuzu took a leaf out of the pages of the Communist Manifesto as he explained the various Economic systems that have evolved throughout the history of humanity.

The session was very interesting and enlightening as the FITs examined Capitalism, Socialism, Social Market and Communism as various economic systems. They learnt that for any real industrial revolution to occur, organization and technology is sacrosant.

To conclude the class, they were tasked with the responsibility of analyzing Nigeria’s current economic system and proposing alternatives.
