@mimefabriek Daria Lytvynenko is a Ukrainian performer, mime, visual artist, and author from Yalta, Crimea, currently working between Austria and Ukraine.
Through movement, voice, video, and absurd actions, Lytvynenko’s solo performance explores life between different countries, political realities, and conditions of safety: the roads and salty waters of southern Ukraine and Crimea that can no longer be travelled, adaptation and distance, and the experience of watching a war unfold from a place of supposed safety.
She moves within biography and fiction, sometimes confronting her own voice — recorded, distorted, made unfamiliar. Or perhaps she is simply arguing with herself.
At the centre of it all is a question: does the enemy live in the body, and how can it be located?
