NOUVEAU NUMÉRO ! JAPON, OBJETS POPULAIRES

/Pre-orders closed/
What do a matcha bowl, a brightly colored kendama, and a patched-up old indigo blanket have in common? They all belong to Japan’s folk crafts. Long overlooked, these ordinary, anonymous objects enjoyed a revival of interest throughout the 20th century, driven in particular by Mingei, the folk art movement. Today, they have become inseparable from Japan’s image abroad.

As our capitalist societies slide into crisis, as overconsumption pushes the planet to its limits, and as artificial intelligence promises to digitize every last aspect of our daily lives, what does this fascination with handmade, unpretentious, almost mundane objects say about us? Find out in this brand-new issue, which will make you look at the objects around you in a whole new way!
