Tula grabbed her first Grand pass yesterday at the fall HRC International Grand Hunting Retriever Test in St. Charles, MO. When Zeus went down this fall to injury I thought I lost my chance to finally get through the Grand but I’m so thankful God had different plans. In the last two weeks this girl stepped up her game in every way imaginable and Tula proved to me she was ready to go chase the Grand on her own. She is one of the finest animals I’ve ever worked with. Her owners are excellent friends and the most supportive team always there to encourage and cheer us on. I have been blessed beyond anything I deserve to be able to train and campaign Tula along with so many other animals that have been in and/or currently in my kennel but it’s tough when you realize you love someone else’s dog as much as you would if they were yours and that one day they will go home and not come back. Until that day comes with Tula the grumpy bear…. I hope we get many more chances to play this game and chase ribbons or titles together but no matter what I will never forget this run she gave me and the experience we just had and how much we have learned together. #thehrcgrand #huntingretrieverclub #fieldgolden #dogsthatdomore #mansbestfriend
