2,000 candles in the shape of Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese Cross on the steps of The Met’s Great Hall. The beginning of an exquisite evening hosted by Vacheron Constantin and The Met in the Temple of Dendur — celebrating the culmination of their inaugural Artisan Residency Program. That gallery can be filled with complicated decor. This night was about the opposite — the drama of the handmade. Three new works unveiled under 2,000-year-old stone — Aspen Golann’s monumental VESSEL, Ibrahim Said’s SHAPING TIME, and Joy Harvey's RUINED SPLENDOUR - BRONZE DIADEM — each born from 18 months of study in The Met’s collection and in Vacheron’s workshops in Geneva. A night built on one metaphor layered on another: the handmade precision of the watches, to the artists in residency, to the hands that carved the Temple itself, so many centuries ago. An extraordinary night of details, precision, artistry. In this age of uber fast digital advances, the slow triumphs of the hand and heart must be celebrated as well. Swipe — . . . If you watch closely you can see the chainsaw sculptor when we first entered the faire, versus when we were walking out 👀 — it was insane! There were hundreds of vendors, and the traffic cop said they were projecting 1/4 of a million visitors this year. It’s no coincidence that a fair like this is growing to such insane attendance. People are returning to handmade, local, real. It’s the new luxury, the new flex. And in my option, there’s nothing like a hand carved wooden spoon 👌🏼 PS if you go this weekend, you’ve gotta stop by @theserioustoycompany ‘s booth! It’s the metal building with 1 on it, enter on the left side. Best kids booth ever!!! War Eagle Fair - NWA - Northwest Arkansas - Handmade - AI

Busta honored J Dilla & D’ANGELO with his new album DILLAGENCE 2. Will 2027 be the year we FINALLY see Busta Rhymes get a well-deserved Grammy?
