Neighbors, heartbreaking new details are emerging from the deadly shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, where three children, ages 5, 8, and 11, and a teacher were killed.

Fifth-grade teacher Kathy Sheil Smith recalled spotting the 16-year-old gunman carrying a long gun before immediately alerting the school’s office and moving her students to a corner of the classroom.

“They were so afraid, the looks on their faces. It was really hard to see,” Smith recalled through tears. “I was just trying to calm them down.” She described how the children tried to comfort one another while fearing for their lives.

“Some kids were praying, some kids were consoling other kids, but doing so quietly because they know you don’t make any noise.”

According to reports, the teenager shot through security locks designed to protect students before entering the school’s special education area and opening fire.

In a shocking turn of events, dispatch audio reportedly suggested a student’s father followed the shooter inside and fatally shot him. Authorities have not confirmed that account.

A 7-year-old student and a 54-year-old teacher were also reportedly rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

🗣️👀Rick Ross may have a tough-guy reputation, but Phaedra Parks says the rapper is really a big ol' teddy bear ... just don't get her started on his love for marinara sauce.

My name is Roger Waters, I’m a musician. I have read Lubna and @greens4palestine ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion, and I couldn’t agree more. Palestinians have the absolute right to denounce the ideology responsible for 100 years of oppression, dispossession and now genocide as racist. It is the absolute obligation of civil society at this time to support the movement for justice and a free Palestine, and this includes necessarily calling out the underpinning political ideology. Zionism has been devastating to the Palestinian people and in a different way, it has also been a destructive force in the Jewish community. The best way we can help to keep the Jewish community safe is to decouple Zionism from Judaism.

I stand in Solidarity with Zack Polanski & Mothin Ali for their courageous leadership and with all my brothers and sisters in the Green Party who are standing their ground.
