Alaric Jackson also tripped #49ers Fred Warner in Week 1 vs the Rams but nothing was done about it.

Comment "Golf" and I'll send you the link to 100 Sales Follow-Up Messages.

In 1976, sociologist Phillip Kunz mailed Christmas cards to hundreds of complete strangers. A large share of them sent cards back, some with long personal letters, to a man they had never met. That's reciprocity: when someone gives us something we didn't ask for, we feel a pull to return the favor, even to a stranger.

The second effect is familiarity. In 1968, psychologist Robert Zajonc showed that people grow to like faces, words and images the more often they see them, even without noticing they've seen them before. A gift your client keeps and uses puts you in front of them again and again, long after the sale.

Put those two together and a small, memorable gift does what a sales call can't. It keeps you in mind without asking for anything, and it gives your client a reason to bring you up with other people. Most referrals come from moments like that, not from asking.
